Re: Arena Hazards

I personally would be against a flipper. Hazards are great, but should be things that do not interfere with the mobility of the competitors. Eg. the spike trap in robot wars was awful what were they thinking, however the flame pits were really cool. The killsaws of battlebots decide way too many fig...

Re: AWS 60 - Headington, Oxford - 30th Nov 2019

Welp, I guess Pushbot is sitting this one out. It's up to Jiggy and Jammin'. Jiggy has never done worse than 2-2 and went 4-2 last event, so the pressure is on for my theoretically least competitive bot to defend it's crown as my most successful, and Jammin', my theoretical most competitive bot, has...

Re: Team Shakey Build Diary

Pfeh, chainsaw? Ha! Any of the cool kids could tell you that Jigsaw Blades is where it's at. *cough*
I kid, that looks amazing! I wanna fight it! AWS60? Not losing a fight against you is one of my life's success criteria!

Re: Hi & Dasmikro 2s6A issue

Can I ask if that dasmikro has mixing? Coz I've never had one that comes mixed work (out of 3), whereas my unmixed ones have all worked (out of 6). That doesn't mean they're a good choice though, as only one was totally weird error / behaviour free, and they are fragile. I recommend bustophedons for...

Re: Lead Time on NanoTwo LT's

AAaaah, I'd misunderstood. Apologies.
Yeah, it'd replace the DasMikro. Alternatively there are a number of other ESCs available if you want to buy one now - look up the ARC Robotics AWESCv4 for example.

Re: Lead Time on NanoTwo LT's

Never is my understanding - the chip that was used in the receiver is now out of production.

Re: Antweight open/AWS 2019

Hey guys. I'm gonna pull my bots off the Antlog, but I figured I'd let you know here too. Due to where I've wound up doing my Teacher Training (North Wales), I ain't gonna be able to make Basingstoke. I... also have a deadline the Monday after, which is a pretty heavily contributing factor. I'm sorr...

Re: BotFest 3 (14th September 2019)

This one's even relatively local to me now! *cries*
I honestly have zero time. I'm hoping I might be able to touch my TX again some time next year - Ant Freeze maybe? But the workload on this course is insane.
I'd be surprised if I can make anything this side of Christmas :(

Re: T_Y's Build Log

That looks really good - I'm sorry I won't be at the Sheffield aws! I need to move that weekend is the problem. That's when my halls here expire and I move to wherever my first placement school is. Which they still haven't confirmed. But ye, has the plow /wedge had any effect on the gear slip...

Re: T_Y's Build Log

I'll second Kyro's advice there... Otherwise what drillbit are you using? I've found the dremel own brand ones too be lackluster and I use cobalt drillbits I bought from a toolstation. They wander less. I'll advise against a dremel workstation though. The construction on them is not super rigid, and...
