Re: "Flip-it” new build/project

Lastest batch of student built robots, mainly year 7s. Notice D3 in the middle...his passion for building is amazing. Hopefully in 2 years we can build a school heavyweight.

Re: DasMikro 2S6A - latest batch dodgy?

Awesome, shame it’s that much bigger. I reckon you could desolder the capacitor as it’s only there for heat absorbing I think from voltage spikes. Not sure how much smaller it would make it though. Looking forward to it..

Re: DasMikro 2S6A - latest batch dodgy?

The one I bought Has worked fine. I bought it before the reports of them blowing up. Since I’ve avoided buying them. I ordered this https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/sdCep9e Over 1 month ago now. Taking ages... hopefully it will be a direct replacement for the dasmikro. Similar board size but can tak...

Re: Help with turn based robot project

You could have a control box for the referee. They can set switches or press buttons to allow people control of their robots. When the ref presses the switch it activates a relay to give power to their remote controls.

You could do all this easily with an ardiuno.

Re: Cleaning gear motors

Cool, looks like a good future investment. I can unscrew the gear box and dunk them in. Would it remove trapped hair as well?

Cleaning gear motors

Hello,

Anyone got any helpful tips on removing hair and gunk from the gears on the N20 motors.

Iniantly I thought fire but didn’t want to damage any thing. So I took it apart and used a small screw driver to pick out the gunk. It just took ages...

Re: "Flip-it” new build/project

Ah ok, I just presumed the Nrf24l01 was the same as an RC protocol just didn’t link to any of the well known brands. The Radiohead library works on quiet a few modules. I just chose the NRF24l01 as you could get one with a amplifier and one that was small enough to fit in an Antweight. Plus there ar...

Re: "Flip-it” new build/project

Cool, how've you done that? I see some kind of Arduino-type board, what protocol does the radio run on? Does it use a RC protocol? Or bluetooth? Wifi? Something else? Mark It uses RC protocol, you have to set the frequency up to match the modules. Here is a guide on how to use the modules. I just a...

Re: "Flip-it” new build/project

Made myself a Transmitter. Printing lid and adding in a switch still need to be done. I am powering it using a 1s lipo (18650 rescued from a broken laptop) and boosting it up to 5v. I have now built all the components for a DIY robot. When I get some spare time around Christmas I am going to write a...

Thanks spaceman!

“Finished” another robot today. However it has a 3D printed weapon. Going to have to buy a bar of aluminium.

Introducing Stolen Concept weighing in at 132g.

Re: 3D printer supplies

I went to the TCT exhibition at the NEC yesterday and saw this auto tool changing on a 3D printer being demonstrated. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn4gWYOzHxQ Wow so clever. I bet a little expensive. I’m looking forward to when they combine 3D scanners with a 3D printer. Scan your item and have it print...

Looks awesome! Glad you got it finished and into combat in the end. I fried one of my micro controllers and gave up on it hehe.
