Shooty's Ants

So a long time back I built an antweight front hinged flipper called Sioc (link to build diary here: http://robotwars101.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2547). I was happy with how the build turned out, although so far Sioc's accomplishments only really include flipping around a few rolls of tape, and mos...

You deserve mad props for going into Robogames with a flipper and winning fights. Nice work man!

Re: Kosmos Build Diary

Nice to see more front hinged flippers! Just be careful when designing the flipper that you leave enough room for the servo to fit and to allow the machine to self right, for my ant it was a very small window indeed!

Re: "Sioc" Build Diary

Cheers man! With the kits, I find that building a basic antweight is more of a design challenge over an electrical one. It's a great feeling to be able to control something you built.Wishing you the best of luck with your first antweight!

Re: "Sioc" Build Diary

Cheers man, although since I'm living in Ireland, I'll probably wait until I have at least one more antweight built before I can justify going to an event, to get the most out of one as possible.

Re: "Sioc" Build Diary

Well, I've left this build alone for far too long, but I finally decided today to finish Sioc. Here's the completed ant!: http://i.imgur.com/24albEz.jpg I got the look from simply printing out an ice texture and sticking it to the inside layer of the polycarb, which gives it even more of an ice-y fe...
